How would you have delivered the tip, aren't you always in bed (probably hugging your teddy) when they call?
I run out to give it them. I'm usually up for work but I was off work that day. Sometimes I don't get to give it them for a week or two after Christmas.

I did do something about the problem - I pushed my bin around the block to get it emptied.

I'm not particularly grumpy - I'm just trying to understand what goes through someones head who is there to empty my bin and on just a minor detail of bin positioning is prepared to be so mean-spirited knowing the possible inconvenience it could cause for such little effort to rectify on his part.

It has happened before but I can't blame the bin men as I left my bin in my garage but I now leave it at the end of my drive but this is the first time I've forgotten to push it forward the required 2-3 feet onto the pavement.

 You think this is an achievement.....I love that Mr Bin Man got you to push it round the block to get it emptied.:cycle: Hee hee.

You've dealt with the immediate issue, not the problem. And you are being grumpy. Because instead of a little more rational response (even in the form of a slightly frustrated post here, which would be justifiable) all of a sudden a little inconvenience on your part means all bin men are no longer deserving of a pension. Sorry, "hairy-arsed, selfish, jobs-worth, bin-emptying, miserable peanuts" don't deserve a pension.

See the issue?

Oh yes, I can understand the ones who kicked up a fuss about pay and overtime for them, as they were training in the gym, I used to too with a fireman friend, chill in the bar, and generally having a great time when they werent out doing their stuff. ^_^
No one complains about them when they are dragging granny out of a burning building, but woe betide they might be proffered some sort of comfort when not doing so.

Bloody hell ! this is hard work. No, I didn't say it was an achievement. I was answering a post that asked why I didn't ring the council to sort the problem and I said I sorted the problem myself by pushing the bin around the block to get it emptied. Also I'm quite sure the bin man wasn't aware of anything regarding my bin at all after his expressed determination not to empty it. I hope that clears that up.

Yes, you cleared it up....by taking it to him!

So just to sum up: In your area, you're expected to leave bins on the pavement to be emptied (kids, this isn't the case everywhere so check before doing so). You didn't do this. Therefore the bin man refused to empty your bin. So far I don't really see what the bin man has done wrong exactly.

So you got up and pushed your bin round the block in your dressing gown and slippers. They then emptied it for you cos it was on the pavement. If you had left it outside my house, I would have expected you to wait with it and take it back straight away rather than leave it messing up MY street.
