Surely if it was a sanctioned "race" they should have be briefed about potential horse encounters and how to handle them?.
Surely that's a story for a separate thread?

ETA - jinx!
Sorry, I was suggesting that a lot the public will see it as just more negative stuff about cyclists.

The cycling aspect has nothing to do with the violence, which is clearly a protest at the Eritrean Government.
I know that, but the fact that it's at a cycling festival will make an impression on those not paying attention at the back of the class, particularly after the horse outrage.

Just read this beauty of a quote from the BBC News article:

"I nearly had a heart attack as I nearly got hit by a car which had been forced to overtake cyclists who were riding four-abreast," she said.

I know the original triathletes were completely in the wrong (and I almost want to give up cycling completely after reading the vitriol directed at "cyclists" on Facebook) but I fail to see how the above incident has any relevance to the story. No one is "forced" to perform a dangerous overtaking manoeuvre.

I'm spitting bullets about the whole damn scenario.

(Swigs beer, breathes deeply on cigarette, tries to calm down).

Yeah, don't read the comments. It's got to the stage when I had a peek a moment ago that a small percentage of the comments are someone saying 'that was terrible' or 'what shocking behaviour' or 'hope you're ok' or a criticism of the cyclists in the video type things, but nearly all of them are some kind of complaint about cyclists as a group.

The Glue that binds us together.
Am really struggling with this one, not only about the under tacking, but the fact that the others watched them do it. if i was there i would have had them of there bikes, this is tottally unacceptable.
