Wow, i don't know where that came from, but at 2 months, 6 days..i could murder a cig ( i think ?)
Is it craving ?, is it just acid or something aggravating my chest ? but it feels like craving.
No danger, come too far to do anything stupid...but wow.

I have packing in smoking on several occasions for periods ranging from 7 months - 5 years  And everytime I had the feeling that you describe up until around 3 months, but decreasing in episodes with time within the 3 months. Everybody is different and its just in the mind. I could of murdered one the other day as it was actually a nice day for once and my wife and sister-in-law were sitting in the garden drinking and smoking whilst my daughter was playing. My wife is fortunate to be one of those people that can just enjoy a fag (or several) on very rare occasions and not get hooked on them, whereas I just get hooked again. The scary thing about smoking is that last time I started after 7 months absence I just smoked regular strength fags as if they were nothing, no coughing or anything. Just slipped right back into it as though I had never been away. Will be 8 weeks this Saturday and I have no intention of starting again as I just do not want to and I also cannot afford them.

I will give my kidneys and belly button for a smoke right now. Stupid head is still chattering away like a drug addict wanting one last fix.
Hate everyone and everything, even chocolate:cry:. So far i have purchased four boxes of Amber leaf tobacco only to have an argument with them then give them give them away.

May have to get patches, but they give me nightmares and make me dribble.....when sleeping.

PS i still like you all better than Marmite.

well done to those who are this far in their journey . its 3 years now for me and i still get the odd urge . i just think of how fitter i am since i stopped.

the patches gave me nightmares so i used a 24hr patch but only wore it while i was awake. it helped . the 16 hour patches didn't work. something will click and will work .

and marmite is great . peanut butter is the vile thing.

Thank you for the info (apart from the peanut butter slur).

This will be my 9 billionth time of quiting. I just picked up some 24hr patches and slapped one on in Tesco (soooo desperate), now my head is woozy but happy.

I did use the mouth squirter for the 1st week and i guess it did help. Then i realised that i am so bloody pig headed i didnt need it, so once it was gone that was it.

It took me 2 years for these random cravings to completely stop - stick with it! I'm 7 years in and feel EXACTLY like I did before starting!

Have you tried the 16 hour patch? I'm off the smokes since 12th Oct last year and had been off them for 6 months a couple of years ago. I used patches but had the same problem with the 24 hour ones, extremely vivid dreams/nightmares.

Used the 16 hour patch and for the crucial awakening I had either the inhalator or a lozenge.

My brain still wants to smoke, at times i find myself inhaling other peoples smoke when i walk past them.
Why is it so hard. Stupid patches making me itch and the pain when i take them off is not funny.
Yes i'm moaning.........i'm allowed to.

Dont fool yourself, its not easy, thats why so many fail.

I also think it has to mental as opposed to physicsl, yes you want nicotine, but in reality you want to continue a habit. I didnt use the nrt after a week, because i dont need it, that is being bloody pig headed, and so far its worked.

Yes i could light up right now, but i am now a non smoker so why should I, thats my attitude.

Good luck.

Thanks guys. First thing in the morning or just sitting at home is the worst.
I know that i'll be better off smoke free eg ride faster and longer, but there are times when i think
stuff it, have a smoke and ride slow........

Cravings don't last forever, it just feels like it.

1st thing in the morning was one of the tough ones for me.

Be strong, it does get better.
