Well done Peteaud.
I reckon that you are over the worst.
I reckon that you are over the worst.
I remember those days. A place I worked at in the mid-late 90's had a high percentage of smokers, (me included at that time), and we'd all be in the office at morning smoking, there'd be at least 4-5 in a room about 10 feet square, unbelievable now isn't it?Just found this thread (another newbie) Sounds ludicrous now, but we used to smoke in the office, at our desks.
Congrats on another week guys - no point going back now is there?
The night before the pub and restaurant ban came in, I went off for a curry with a friend. Imagine our horror when we discovered that the restaurant was enforcing the ban a week early. Fortunately, we could still repair to a local boozer after our meal. It was like a rather wonderful scene from Dante's Inferno....the pub had set up a "Smoke-in" and , blimey, we all rather went for it. Ashtrays were overflowing left right and centre. Staff would come round and see a modestly empty one and chide us..."Come on folks, you aren't even trying. Shape up man". A wonderful night, but I'm not going back to that. When the smoking ban had been announced but was still some time away, I did a regular weekly survey of the percentage of smokers in my local. It was iro of 75% which may go some way to explaining why the pub is emptier these days but immeasurably more pleasant.
It must certainly help ex-smokers not to 're-offend' these days in the boozer.
Just seen the ticker.
1 month since gave up smoking
Well done, Pete. You know you can do it now.
