Rode my audax event yesterday. It’s quite funny when your form can go from fresh to high risk in a single ride. But that is long distance riding for you. The ride got 440 TSS.

Not surprising that today is recovery , which will involve a walk to WH Smith to collect some printer labels. Rest of week also recovery, back on bike tomorrow, for approx an hour, to do some low cadence drills.

How did the event go?

Excellent me too. Did we settle on a date in the end?

Don't think so.

30 mins Tempo and 60 mins high end Z2 yesterday - plus a sneaky attempt at a Strava Segment near the end.

2 hr recovery (Z1) ride today. This is where a coach makes a difference. I was up for pushing on today but Roy has asked me to stick with the plan. He also wants me to do an outdoor 30 min max effort (FTP) effort next week.

Targetting first IRL races in May.

I see this thread has been moved to the "Training" area. Fair enough.

Recovery ride on Thursday, day off yesterday - 3hr endurance ride outside planned today with a 30 min max effort/FTP test at the start. I managed 260W for the 30 mins a month ago, hopefully improve on that today.

Inside my skull
A friction washer cracked on my rear shifter. Consequently been on Brompton past three days. The Brompton being only 3 speed gives a good muscular endurance ride. Replacement part for main bike arrived, will fit later. Then I can resume the structure.

Wahoo SYSTM Cash register last night and 1st 100km ride of the year this morning with a bit of Trainer Road to pass the time. Wifi dropped out and so had to reset router losing my group- bit like getting a puncture without getting dirty 😁
140g carbs consumed.

Yep you have to train your gut to tolerate the high carb input. This is something I've been bad at but trying to put right.
