I’ve got a beast of Vo2 max 6 x 8 x 30 / 30 to do this week. I was due due to do it today but I’ve been treating some paint chips and surface rust on chain stays and left drop out. In 24 hours the top coats applied today will be cured and ready to reassemble bike. First test the aforementioned workout. Then next week I roll into a taper ahead of my first qualifier for Paris Brest Paris.

Sounds horrible :okay:

Yes it will be. I had a 5 x 12 x 30 / 30 VO2 max session last summer. My mind has blanked the horror of that one.

Cheers @Norry1 for setting up this page.

Did first zwift workout in ages (since I moved from wheel on trainer to neobike). Huge difference in terms of ERG mode - it just works. also seems to be much higher emphasis on cadence which probably helped in keeping in ERG.

Did "lavender unicorn" - slightly forgetting that's what would show up on Strava - as only had around 30 mins to play with - fairly basic over/under effort. If I'm honest my FTP must be set slightly low as heart rate never got within touching distance of max. Does anyone know if it's easy to change target percentage on apple TV? Was afraid to try and toggle the 100% up with the apple TV in case it put me into another dimension.

So overall - enjoyed it, but if I'm being honest probably didn't have it set hard enough. Very pleased with ERG mode - I used to grind to a halt on kickr snap

If you use the companion app you can raise and lower workout intensity.

Erg on the neobike is 👌

Nicely done. The MAP increase is apparently a good indicator for future gains.

The last minute of the 4dp is the worse minute i have ever experience on a bike:B)

The final 2-3 minutes of the FTP section are the toughest for me. Today I was just hanging on at my previous FTP value for the final two minutes of agony!

I don’t mind the final one minute interval because I just convince myself “it’s only a minute, you can do anything for just one minute”. Not always that simple though, is it 🤣

The 4DP test is the only workout that has me wheezing at the end, regardless of my fitness. When I’m out of shape, I wheeze after any hard workout but when I’m in better shape, it’s only the 4DP that does it to me!

I absolutely hate the 4DP. And love it. But mostly hate 😝

Completed today’s monster VO2 workout. It went surprisingly well and intervals.icu says I averaged 15W more than last week during the on intervals. Next week is just under 50% of this, as it’s a taper week.

Well done :okay:

What %FTP were your efforts?

My Garmin Dual HRM hasn't been playing ball with Zwift since the last software update... On Saturday I could get the Bluetooth to pair but couldn't get the HRM to connect (this usually requires a squirt of water over my chest and can be resolved within a minute or so), but this morning Zwift wasn't even recognising that the heart strap existed. I used it with my Forerunner 230 watch on Sunday morning and it was fine, and I unpaired it from the watch before trying to connect, but no joy...
It had also stopped working with my Garmin watch and wasn't pairing with RGT either, so I guess that it's the battery in the strap. Duly changed - I'll check when I get home whether it's worked!

EDIT - all working!
