Shut Up Legs

Down Under Member
I have a very 'pronounced aching in my legs, because it was exceptionally windy this week, so I'm glad it's Saturday. How do you pronounce "My legs are b#ggered"?

Hah, they've left the past historic tense out! I can't remember how it goes though :il randonna....nous randonnâmes...ils randonassent, summat like that.

They included the pluperfect subjunctive! They would have randonneured?

C'est improbable qu'ils randonassent? Incidentally I was wrong about there not being a past historic, it's just that they've called it the indicatif passé simple. I should have said ils randonnèrent. Though it's not the kind of thing that anyone would have ever written.

 :secret: You have muddled up your pluperfect subjunctive with your (imperfect) subjunctive. ^_^ An easy mistake to make, I know.
subjonctif plus-que-parfait
j'eusse randonné
tu eusses randonné
il/elle eût randonné
nous eussions randonné
vous eussiez randonné
ils/elles eussent randonné

subjonctif imparfait
je randonnasse
tu randonnasses
il/elle randonnât
nous randonnassions
vous randonnassiez
ils/elles randonnassent

Merde! How would I say ''it's unlikely that they were randonneering?''

There are a lot of cycling terms I don't know how to pronounce because I only read them and am too lazy and ignorant to know, care or try to find out. I rarely talk to people about cycling but in the rare event that I do, I will sometimes say these terms anyway, my way, seriously and with a straight face. I do it for fun to just see how people respond. Most won't laugh too much but smile a little and correct me, which is fine and I actually do appreciate it. I think some realize I was having a go at them anyway. Last time was when I went into the Trek dealer and said "Do have any Trek Domains in stock?" .
