If fresh, cold is fine.

If more than 1 day old, sliced then 4 minutes in the airfryer at 180 ensuring that it's directly on the aerated grill to heat the bottom. Then real butter and a line of honey before scoffing.

Never thought of honey in "lines'. But it is addictive.

Prefer Aberdeen butteries which are similar texture, but less sweet.
Thus they go perfectly warmed, a wee bit o' butter and a good chunk of mature cheddar inside - ! ^_^

All of these posts seem to be missing the most important aspect. Must be eaten with additional butter and strawberry jam spread on every bite.

Eccles cakes. Perfect snack food if made fresh in a bakery or cafe - not the packed ones - UGH!. Bonne Bouche cafes in London have the best.

They are very pricey but the pump street bakery ones are seriously good, they do work out at around £5 a piece with delivery if you buy online though!

A couple of year ago they were a pound at Bonne Bouche. I'll be there again in May, so hopefully the price is not too much.

The only way is fresh from the bakers, from the oven .they soon lose there moreness , so an hour at best!
But to be honest many British croissants are not worth it, best from a boulangerie on the West bank of the Seiene

Not croissants but talk of British bakeries has reminded me - back when I was UK resident, I was rather partial to Belgian buns from Greggs. No idea why really, I acknowledge there's nothing special about them, I guess it was just unquestioned habit.
