Given the inexperience of this "post being shoot at the world cup" team, there aren't a lot of other options at present for captain

Yep. The only thing I could say with any certainty is that I'd like to see Morgan getting involved with the coaching/management side of the limited overs sides.

although it is a bit concerning we let it slip from 23/4.

The new ball nips and swing around at the beginning of the innings though and then calms down a bit. Windies reconsolidated well but as soon as they tried to up the scoring rate the wickets fell again.

Pleased for curran after a poor night in match 1. Also Buttler made some runs which is very good for him personally.

True. Reasonable signs all round I suppose, and knocking off the runs with 17 overs to spare was pleasing.

Awful bowling (again) papered over by an excellent chase.

The lack of balance in the side is baffling. I know that this is a transitional/rebuild phase internationally, but I can't see a great deal to be positive about, beyond the occasional glimmer of hope, which as we all know is what kills you.

Why have they called all the teams "Premium"? Have they given up on MLC already? Conflicting leagues have knackered the popularity of football in the past, and with something as niche as cricket this won't help.

Maybe to signify that the nationality naming in the teams does quite not signify nationality.
And maybe to tell the newby Texas target audience that it is in fact a high level tournament.

Marketing will not be easy.

nothing much premium in the squad lists. Any recognised name is a retiree. Even Imran Khan is on the reserve list FFS.

High level? You can't be serious.

Chris Gayle (to pick just one player) is 44. A legend, but way past it.

Moosa Stadium has a capacity of 2,500. I know they need to start small, but that's ridiculous.
