Not going to be enough is it? The winometer must be favouring the Aussies.

Unless early wickets and plenty of them, yes absolutely.

Batting out your overs at least avoids the possible psychological disadvantage of not... so there is that. I feel India have really got a task on their hands now, and this game is Australia's to lose, but there might yet be a game in it. I hope so. This final seemed like the right pairing to me, the 2 best teams at the tournament both with big game players, so I was hopeful of a fitting final. Let's see what India can do from here. Fingers crossed.

They bat deep, and can throw the bat deeper, and more importantly can manage a game so I don't write the Aussies off despite the vociferous home crowd.

I’m not sure who I’m supporting here but hats off to the Aussies so far. Extraordinary demonstration of dealing with pressure.

Yes, you simply have to congratulate the Australian team. I did think India would win but Australia knew how to put a stop to them. They bowled well, pretty much winning the game with that alone. Then they have the batsmen to take on all comers. Collectively the experience to manage a game.

Well played Australia and well batted Dickie! When Smith was given out I thought nerves would kick in but that was a masterclass.

This is the thing I've noticed with Australian sports teams, they hardly ever, possibly never, seem to suffer from this as other teams do, they always perform when it matters. I admire them for that.

India have suffered like 4 years ago, from being a bit too good. Their lower order have barely batted and when it came to the time to step up, they didn't. Fair play to the Aussies they built up their form and peaked for the big games.

The India fans were pretty poor in the final I thought. Not acknowledging Head's century, leaving when it was clear they were going to lose...

The tournament overall has been a pretty poor advert for a country that's cricket obsessed. Poor crowds and some terrible pitches isn't a good look.
