and more importantly, how many want to watch it.

and therein is the problem, if both sides bat most or all of the 50 overs its 3.5 hours per innings with no breaks (bar a quick drinks break).

T20 each inning last under 2 hours

Test Cricket is divided into sessions of 2 hours (Ok final session) is 2.5-3 hrs.

the latter two are much easier to consume as a spectator

It's a really popular format, viewer wise. The 2019 World Cup was the most viewed ICC event.

Sure it doesn't have the daft circus surrounding it like 20/20, and players are always going to want to go for a big pay day, but I don't think it's unfashionable.

I dunno, it just annoys me that it's not taken seriously these days and that daft formats like The 100 are dreamed up.

There's T10 as well now which is just silly.

England vs Netherlands could well be the wooden spoon play-off.

I remember taking my son to a early T20 where NL beat us off the last ball....

Yep. Came out of retirement to seek more glory. He took another players place.
Unacceptable when you have already given up the 50 over game.

Lot of time for the guy, and he's a great cricketer, but he's basically crippled. They even said on TMS that it looked like he could barely move until legging it between the wickets and hobbling around back at the crease.

And having the distraction of "When Ben comes back everything will be fine" is just daft.

Agree with you. He’s an amazing player but sometimes he seems to try and live up to the hype rather than playing the situation. We have a lot of very good one day players, some of whom could become world class but need exposure. Todays team was all over 30. Joe Root is an all time great but should not be playing one day matches now, Woakes, Willey, Mo are also past their best.

Yep, agree with all of that. Can you imagine the seethe if England neglected their football or rugby teams because they saw a sparkly way to make a buck? I mean they kind of have too, it's just a shame to see talent going to see talent squandered.

Sri Lanka were without two of their best bowlers as well and horsed us.

When we had Freesports I watched one of those tournaments. The quality was very good. And it was no great surprise when the Netherlands beat Scotland in the final.

Maybe they are back to very minor games.

I don't see why they should have to play minor games. Teams like Afghanistan, Netherlands and further back Ireland and Zimbabwe have proved they can be more than a challenge to the big boys.

They'll learn nowt and gain less from some stupid 10 over competition. The bowlers can only bowl two overs? That's a laugh.

T10 has more commercial appeal than T50. T50 of course got depreciated by The Hundred, that being yet another T20 of sorts.
