I need another pair of shorts, but first some mechanics to sort and a shed. Then maybe can start saving toward another bike, or camera.
Your getting a bit materialistic there Nigel.

Well with having an extra 4 people living here space is a premium, so I hardly call it materialistic, not is the bike needing bits, a new bike maybe is, but i have spent enough time of the road when this one needed some tlc, and even though i can usually get it on the road pretty quick, there will come a time when I need to go out, besides, if I have another I don't need to rely on others for a lift. Camera likewise, not think of anything expensive mybe a G5-toG9 (Canon compact with raw) for one it easier to carry to not so expensive if it gets damaged.Your getting a bit materialistic there Nigel.

Everything I get is got with a purpose not a whim.
I knowWas a joke! Hence the....
Everything I get is got with a purpose not a whim.
I try to think out the things I am going to buy, it doesn't always work out, especially when I buy a new t shirt with something stupid written on it or a dry star moisture wicking shirt of some sort every time I walk in Walmart. Those 3 to 5 dollar shirt sales get me every time! I have enough t shirts to last two life times now I think.
I do that sort of thing too.
Back in the late 90's I 'discovered' a great Scandanavian clothing brand called Odlo - they make some ver high wicking T's. I bought a couple for climbing at £9.99 and I was so happy with them I bought another dozen. They last yonks and I still have 3 I have not yet worn.
I also bought 9 (all they had) Paramo reversible T's in a mega stupid sale at £7.99 each - normally about £25.00. Had them over 5 years and still have 2 unused.
Same with some super durable North Face lightweight fleece trousers (nicer than they sound!) - I bought 6 pairs year before last and have not used 3 pairs to date.
Living in the countryside you can get away with wearing this sort of stuff full-time! And I am way past the point of vanity driving me to be seen in different clothes every day.
Easy answer, I dont advertise brands, and usually inherit t-shirts.I try to think out the things I am going to buy, it doesn't always work out, especially when I buy a new t shirt with something stupid written on it or a dry star moisture wicking shirt of some sort every time I walk in Walmart. "where there's a hill there's a way"

Been called a woman more than once, what with the hair and lycra.
Passed some school kids having a go at an old guy (who didn't seem to steady), yelled at them at least he is cycling, would like to see you lot do it at his age (not that i will be long gone).I haven't cut my hair in months, don't know if they think I am a woman or not, it isn't really long but it is plenty curley. So far it has been only women slowing down to follow and commenting when they pass. Mostly teen girls out driving Daddy's car. The teen boys like to get right beside and yell as loud as they can to try and startle me. I am pretty used to it now, mostly all they get now is my middle finger and a smile.
