It's when wearing the Lycra you catch the eye of the opposite sex (or not if that's your preference) and they either make eye to eye contact and smile......or break down in floods of tears laughing their head off.
So I've bought my bike and all the bits I need, helmet, padded shorts, bright orange and black top, gloves etc. I wore it all today for my first ride. Do I look stupid wearing all that gear as I've only got a beginners bike and I'm only just starting out? Is that all for the professional?
It becomes a little weird when you start to enjoy wearing lycra
Bollocks to what others think you look like, at least your out on a bike making an effort to keep fit and have some self pride, rather than slouching it on a couch watching stupid football.
All I'd say is try to avoid team kits until you can ride your entire training ride without looking as if you are sucking on a lemon.
But to be fair - it is just so lovely and silky.
Cheers mate, got to admit though...I did ask my Mrs if she thought my ar$e looked good in the lycra tell you what though, it feels bruised after sitting on that seat.
