Why not post a picture of you sitting on the bike, that way people will be able to see the problem and give you better advice.

Taking an inch or 2 off of the seat post should not be a problem, as long as when you have it back there is at the least couple of inchs inside the frame.
It does have minimum insertion marks on the post. I'll have a go at posting a pic. I'd have to lean the bike over to get a foot on the ground tho lol

Are you saying that you cannot stand over the bike full stop, or just when you are on the saddle.

Nah I'm

Nah the small frame size is fine. The saddle height is just (IMO) too high. I can't touch the ground even on tiptoe when I sit on it.

Correct saddle height you should look like the above. (less the beard ^_^)

When you come to a stop you slide off the saddle.

I'm starting to get the horrible feeling I'm just being a wuss....?
Hey, don't say that!
I think it might help if you could find someone with a bit of bike knowledge to actually see you on the bike and get their opinion. Sometimes confusion can creep in with written descriptions of the problem.
Don't give up, we'll get this sorted out between us all^_^

Unless you take it off the top^_^, sorry I will get my coat.

Lmao I once carefully made a template to cut out laminate flooring then cut the wrong bit out so you know it could happen

Or laying a piece of carpet on top of another and cutting it to only to find the new carpets fits perfect, upside down.

I did not do this but I have seen it done.

I am more a measure twice, cut it once and even then get it wrong. Maybe something to do with my 190cm by 32 inches style of measuring.

Lolol yes I can see myself doing that too.

I'm kinda nervous about taking a hacksaw to this beautiful (IMO) new bike. I'm expecting to end up with a unicycle lol

I don't think it will be the bottle boss but it could well be that the bolt is too long and that is fouling the seat post
try just taking out the top bolt out, if that works either get a shorter bolt or use some washers to space it out (within reason)

If it is an alloy or carbon frame the bottle boss will be an insert (Rivnut?) that has a flange on the inside of the frame tube. This can interfere with the bottom of the seatpost. I had a bike delivered with a carbon seatpost that was too long (for me) - because the shorter version of the post was out of stock at the time. Rather than cut it down I swapped it for the shorter post, when restocked.
