Shops are open on Sundays.
One aspect I miss, is that our local Waitrose was closed on a Sunday and their car park was empty. We used to take our kids to the car park to learn to ride bikes and to rollerblade. They are all grown up now with kids of their own, but happy memories.

Back on topic, I think the biggest advances are:
Medical: Things that killed people in my youth are now routine hospital visits
Technology: To limit it to the top three, They are EMail, The Internet and public GPS.
Housing: Outside loos have gone, as have houses without bathrooms, central heating, insulation, decent windows
and lots more ........

mm -Housing a tricky one brains.
More than.

Increasing UK godlessness.

(some exceptions but at least the variety stops any getting too uppity)
You said you'd only mention this once!

For me, I STILL celebrate living somewhere that is a lot more tolerant than many places to people's beliefs, or lack of them. We have a STATE RELIGION, but no-one makes you practice it, or wear the funny clothes, or even respect the worshippers. You can even make up your own religion if you so choose. Be grateful!!!

Would you put money on that ?

In my opinion it's a case of 'when' not 'if', England will rejoin the EU.
10 years possibly, more likely 20 years.
To save face, England may not 're-join' in full, but rejoin in all but name.
Well I bet you that in 20 years time we will have domesticated whales and be using them as environmentally friendly forms of transport (probably not land based) Furthermore dolphins will be officiating at weddings between humans and antelopes and my village will have twinned with Tonga.
You assume that you will never need to pay up, But as death will have been abolished within the next 20 years, I will eventually catch up with you. When I do you will have to pay the debt including the Consuper Price index+H where H equals housing costs, compounded for the full 20 years and for the years you have been in hiding.
PS why in your silly billy imagination has Wales decided not to rejoin the EU? Or did they never leave?

The break up of the European Union, its started, It may not have finished yet but It will happen in my lifetime. I will give you @Brains 1,000 to 1 it will be Ireland first quickly followed by italy and it will happen within 20 years or more. Only slightly more ludicrous than your offer of a bet.
