FacepalmWe can still travel freely throughout Europe (I presume you mean people rather than freight) Also, why did we have to have passports when we were allowed 'free movement' when we were in the EU?🤔

One of those was my father in law, aged 73.
At his inquest the coroner read out a statement from him describing the work he did in a foundry in the mid seventies, sawing sheets of asbestos to reline the furnace without wearing any PPE.
To be fair, at the time, no one would have known what PPE was.
I have a book, published in the 1960's
It's designed for Scout groups and other youth organisations.
It shows how to make crafts, aeroplanes, pictures, models etc.
All of which involve getting the kids to cut, drill and sand sheet material.
Asbestos sheets!
We joined the EU
We left the EU
FFS, cant you people just
leave ONE THREAD free of the same
drivel about Brexit that we can all read in
200 pages of dedicated threads?
As did schools, so no big deal. Doubt they were of much use an industrial accident is more likely to need a doctor and not a GP!industrial accidents on a regular basis,
to such an extent they had a uniformed nurse as a member of staff,
Goretex first sold commercially in mid 70s. Been with us almost 50 years.

I was just about to say leaving the EU dictatorship, in response to the OPs post.
