I have a thermostat jobbie in my lounge, I don't think it has dropped below 21 since May. Most nights we've had the window open as it's been very warm and muggy. Heating will not go on until it's regularly getting below 18 in the house. Even then i don't like putting it on, as all the heat goes upstairs where we don't actually sit

My first job in the mornings is still to open the patio doors and back door
Most days we also have the lounge windows open to get some through draft

Did leave the doors closed for few days last week

boiler has only been used for hot water since about April!

Once the energy prices started to rocket we went around checking various things to see where we could save. Turned the boiler flow temperature down as recommended on a YouTube video, then experimented with the time that the boiler runs for to heat the water in our well insulated water tank. Turns out 30 minutes every morning is enough, so we no longer have it on constant.

I'm in Scotland near Stirling, no heating on yet. Bedroom windows still open at night. Heating won't be on for another couple of months yet, hopefully.

Problem for me is being in a bungalow. I'm a pretty boy and if I leave a window open overnight some filthy pervert is guaranteed to enter the house and go all Deliverance at me, hence having aircon fitted.

Lucky being in the South East where it's to be warmer then you northern ilk.
Much sun in recent days to warm the house, so we had the bedroom (and other) windows wide open all last night, plus the patio doors for half an hour from 6.30am. A lovely night's sleep but it was still wonderful to step outside with a mug of tea this morning in the cool fresh air.

But the house can feel v cold in winter, so its usually mid Oct to early Nov when we put the heating on.

Usual polarised comments again this year.

My contribution, heating has been on maybe a couple of dozen times for an hour in the evening throughout June/July/August. Open fires about half of that I guess.

Unless we get a late warm spell I can't see us not having some form of heating on every night until well into next year.

Today it is chilly. Grey skies and horrible light drizzle. House (bungalow, well insulated) sits at 18C and no chance of that rising as the day goes on. At around 6-7pm that will start to drop and no way are we going to sit here swaddled in fleeces under a blanket etc...

Turned the boiler flow temperature down as recommended
My boiler does that for you, whether you want it to or not. If I turn up the boiler stat the temperature goes up for a few minutes, then the controller algorithm takes over and turns it back down to 43-45ish, or wherever it wants it. It'll do that no matter how high I turn the stat up. The only time the boiler stat setting is making any difference is for the first few minutes after switch-on from cold, whilst the system is warming up.

The same applies to the roomstat too in extremis. If I turn it up far enough, the temperature will go up for a while, but then the controller says "no, you can't have it that high" and turns the heat back down again. It's been designed to prioritise energy saving over and above any user settings.

If I had a choice, our hating would be off longer way into the autumn, but I don't.

Just a reminder all, check your heating still kicks in, BEFORE you get a cold snap.

I agree with this - happened to me twice - pump failed due to being unused over the summer and "gunk" became too gloopy for it to push it round
In both cases it was quite old and probably would have failed soon anyway - but better to discover this before you need the heating on

It's far too warm for the heating to be on. It's still summer.
October, or November before the heating gets turned on, not necessarily being used though.
I am fortunate that I don't feel the cold.
MrsP on the other hand is like a reptile, if she's not in the sun, she is cold, even if the temperature is 25⁰+.

Have one like that, too!
