Central Heating - on yet?

Haven't needed the heating on yet at all. Still T shirt weather for me, though my wife is in long sleeves now. Heating won't go on until we start feeling cold even with long sleeves.

That was my thought; close the door behind it when it goes out and let it figure the rest out for itself.

When teaching my cat to use the cat flap I used the old, if it's meowing to go out, push it through the cat flap trick. It didn't find the process particularly dignifying but caught on fairly quickly.

Even quicker; leave the kitten out in the garden and get a neighbour with a dog to let loose mutley in said garden.

A bit Darwinian but guarantees a catflap-savvy kitten 75% of the time. 😁

If kids are involved with the 25% cohort; well they do have to learn about these things sooner or later. 🙄

At the moment it warms the place when we want a shower but it won't be long.
I refuse to be cold if I can afford the heating.

The CH hasn't been on yet so far this autumn... but i am putting my electric heater on the sitting room of an evening.

Having our boiler serviced on October 4th in readiness for colder weather when it comes. My wife has an electric throw to use if she needs it but she hasn't yet.

Started wearing long sleeves in the house, even a thick fleece following a cold that has left me feeling cold when I shouldn't.

So we put heating on tonight but mostly to check it's OK as we had a problem last year and it didn't go on at first. It's OK so we kept it on a few hours to be sure then it's off and hopefully off for a bit longer.

Always good to check before it gets cold in case there's a problem. That way you can get a plumber in before they get busy with the first cold weather / hard frost.

I had my living room radiator on again last night. No doubt it'll be on every night now, until May at the earliest.
