What's the thinking about changing etc? Travel in 'civvies' and change on the boat? Don't fancy skiting around the deck in cleats!

Is the plan to get the 16:40 boat back?

The ferry is a biggy and the passenger deck is carpeted inside, the stairs to the deck are steep but have handrails - I doubt you'd come a cropper wearing cleats.

That or the 18:00 one depending on how long we take to do the routes, I was thinking about getting changed before we go on the boat, saves taking all my stuff with me really

Seems they have two different timetables one starting in march and one in may

If we miss the 18:00 we always have the 19:20 but after that its an overnight stay on the island :wahhey:

Should we atleast let the ferry company know we are coming?

" Groups travelling together with the above are advised to contact the port of departure before the day of travel"

I think if its an organised group, eg. a school trip or such like then Calmac like to be told in advance. I was down on Arran a Saturday last summer and there must have been 60 cyclists going on the ferry however with the 2 ferries running this summer they have more capacity
1 other thing to mention is when you get to Brodick its a good idea letting all the ferry related traffic clear first before setting off. Means you don't have a stream of cars and buses passing as you cycle up the hill from Brodick towards Lamlash

Given the numbers involved Colin, about 15, that may be a good idea. At least we've done our bit in warning them in the event of any difficulties.

I'll send them a wee email and let them know that the cc bunch will be in town on sat morning
