One for the cat psychologists among us - !
In our time, we've had three pairs of sibling cats. in every case, the boys have been happy with the other cats in the house, but the girls have all been anti cat, especially with their brothers. Very human friendly, but with other cats, definitely no.
A definite pattern, or is it just coincidence - ?

Well our last 'Lad' could often be found with 2 of the girls cuddled up to him on the rug but apart from those 2 sometimes laying together the rest of the (all Girl) mob generally need their own space.

And another issue, two of our lasses are 'daddies girls' and the look I get from one when t'other beats her to it onto my lap - !
The sort of look I'd get from the GLW if she caught me in bed with my neighbour's wife - !

I have to put tins on my poweramps to stop my cats sitting on them, not so bad when it's dry but a 'soggy moggy' on top of them is not a good scenario.

Blocking the cooling vents of a heat-generating bit of kit would be the main problem - and no doubt the appeal the spot has for the cats. If anything evaporative cooling from a wet (within reason) cat would mitigate the problem

Okay, in various cat threads on cyclechat, people have said "I wouldn't have a stinking litter tray in my house", to which others have said "my cat's litter tray doesn't smell at all".

Well, my cat's litter tray STINKS.
So how long do you go between complete changes & washes of the tray?
This one needs changing every 5 days. On the web, people boast that theirs last TWO WEEKS!

(am using Catsan Hygiene, which doesn't seem to do a particularly good job).

We haven’t had cats for a while but we did have two siblings that lasted until 19 (boy) and 20 (girl). The boy was diagnosed with a chest condition following a suspected cat flu infection as a kitten but made it to a ripe old age.

Anyway, amongst the behaviours observed:

- the boy in particular would bring in things like leaves, flower stems, once a water lily bloom, some spring onions and one time tried to get a branch in the house but it got stuck in the cat flap. He also once brought in a broken collar, which turned out to be one he had lost himself some days before.

- the girl would curl up on my wife’s abdomen when she was pregnant (the wife). This happened with both kids and from very early in the pregnancies. She never did it at other times.

- the most frustrating animal brought in was a live bat. I chased it around our bedroom whilst simultaneously trying to get the cats out as they were trying the climb the walls to get to it. It eventually came to rest in a light fitting whereby I took a net curtain down, trapped and released it.
