The winner was Robbie Alan Hanshew, a 13-year-old from Portland, Oregon. It was delivered to him by rail (rather than the Super Guppy) and was donated to the Oregon Museum of Science Industry (OMSI) where it remains on display today

Wait until "corporate sponsorship" works its way down from roads, event venues, and stadiums to 'sponsoring' parents to name their children in return for a lump sum. You'd see kids named "Tesco Ansells Volkswagen" or "Aldi Rothmans Guinness" then.
