Just talking to a mate and he said all those rules are pretty much ignored until you get to the national events.

If that day were ever to come, I'll sort it out, but I will probably be much older by then:smile:

Nada, gears are checked at every race once you've signed in, when you get caught you get disqualified instantly, I emailed British cycling to check and they said that the locking off method is accepted at club level, but to compete in nationals you need to have a new cassette.
