Here is a link to the first draft of the map. I think everyone should be able to access it but let me know if not. Still lots of projects to add to it.

Hi, my thanks for your efforts, but although I can see the URL in your Quoted post, it does not work?
Edit: Belay that, now it does from my Reply :-)

Edinburgh Bike Coop.
Bike for Good, Glasgow.

The Edinburgh Bike Coop is pretty commercial, I bought my Specialized Sirrus from them https://www.edinburghbicycle.com/

The Bike Station is more of a Charity (they've places in Edinburgh and Perth) https://www.thebikestation.org.uk/support-us

Google also lists on the charity front in Edinburgh:

https://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/cycling-walking-projects-1/brake-cycle

https://www.bikesforrefugees.scot/

https://pedalforth.co.uk/donate-sell/

Yes, this shop/franchise doesn't seem to merit inclusion in the list, imho. Employee owned.
Which highlights the need (and I will do a %) of verifying their bona fides to the extent possible.

Would it be an idea to put links to the map in your OP so it's easy to find?
Yes (so people can see if a recycle place they've found has already been listed/mapped).
But as well, pop link in the(your) primary list thread OP, near/at the top. And a picture (eg image of map, which you can replace/update every so often)) to feed the algorithm. Super well done @annedonnelly Bravo!

This endeavour is a magnificent example of knowledge assembled and made available in an intuitive accessible way. If a random (many search engines available) searches for 'bike (recycling) charity' (other search terms are available) it needs to be (close to) top of the list. And will pull randoms across into CycleChat too: with who knows what benefits.

Definitely - I didn't put Edinburgh Bike on the map - the staff were always lovely when I used them, but a commercial organisation.

I hope that people will help with a sanity check of organisations that they are familiar with or live close to. There's always a chance that places have moved or closed recently and our information is out of date.
