I don't think I like change.org. The "nnn sigs needed" is just generated noise. It keeps updating to how many signatures need to next round number. When I first clicked the link it was "70 sigs, 30 more needed" Now it's "with 1,204 supporter/296 NEEDED"

There's no actually goal, and for some reason I find the "needed" thing deeply creepy.

If she were a horse shouldn't the driver be much further over to the left? I pull right over - when safe to do so, of course - when passing a horse, driving or cycling.

Whilst I sort of see the point, I have no doubt most of the tossers who are clueless about passing a cyclist safely are equally clueless about passing a horse safely...

I said, 'Absolutely ridiculous decision. There is no legal obligation for cyclists to wear helmets and inconclusive research about their effectiveness. Cyclists are entitled to position themselves in the road where they can be seen and where they can avoid obstructions. The highway code even includes a picture of a car crossing the centre line overtaking a cyclist!'

Tonight's TV news irony: STV had a quick piece about the ASA carry on (focus on helmet, no mention of road position), followed immediately by a piece about a proposed new town near Aberdeen. The simulation showed a cyclist. Guess what: NO HELMET! We'd better get on to the ASA at once!
