Also, the band D one gets FTTC broadband at > 50Mbit but the band F one only gets the lowest grade copper broadband at 3Mbit. And SO works from home, with lots of video calls. There might be a 4G option but no-one says anything good about 4G routers.

Ironically, the house with good broadband is the more remote one.

Second viewing of another one yesterday. A bit smaller, needs some work (although perfectly habitable) and has 3 acres. SO can have eggs from rescue chickens (she's vegan) and an orchard.

Council tax band D rather than F, which means it's far more financially viable (almost £100/month difference) when one of us dies. Band F is brutal if you're retired and on only an indexed income.

It's a tricky choice but I'm leaning towards the one with lower council tax.
Shirley, eggs are verboten for a vegan?

Apparently ok if the chickens lead a natural life.

With only a very slight extension of that criterion, road kill rabbits, venison deer etc. could feature on a vegan menu? :hungry:

I'm a pescatarian, but now realise I could have supplemented my diet with a clear conscience over the years.

Yes, I have been veggie for more than 60 years. That's my choice and I respect the choices of others. I was vegan for seven months as an experiment in determining if any particular food group was the source of my malaise ( at that time I also eliminated Soy and Gluten from my diet )
I know that the eating of honey is a bone of contention amongst some Vegans, but eggs are a definite No.
We have a friend who describes herself as a vegetarian " though I occasionally eat chicken " 🤔

I've got a 5g router- Teltonika RUTX50. Works perfectly. Our BT wired capability was 9mb, we get consistent 100mb from 5G.
