Had a peep at used Leaf (Mk2) on auto trader and they haven't half come down in the last few months - looking at say 3 year old 40Kwh. Even the newer 62KW model is about £20k for a year old car - this was much more expensive new.
Dont' worry, they do them in other coloursIf ever an acronym was wide of the mark!
Well used to 360 camera on the Qashqai.Having owned both a 2018 40kW and now a 62kW. I would suggest the 40 if it's for local journeys. It's more efficient at around 4miles/kW driven sensibly. You will get max 170 miles in the summer and 100 miles in the winter.
If you can get one with adaptive cruise control and 360° camera, nice features.

Just looked at Honda-e and Pug e-208, and my word have the prices dropped for a 2 year old car. About 50%. Honda is about £20k, and the Pug about £16k.
Looks like petrol cars are holding value much better. Our next car will be another city car. The Qashqai is practical and comfy, and can do the distance. Bit of a pain trying to shove 4 bikes up top though.
I'll be in a position to drop cash on a car in 18 months as a couple of 'non-essential' small pension pots will need re-investing.
Some cars are really holding onto values or appreciating. My choices are either a sports car (used) because I do so little miles, or a city car or medium hatch (nearly new). Even a plug in hybrid makes sence after talking to a friend on their use (it's their main car), but 90% its run on electrons, with the ability for long trips across the country on dino juice.
I posted a few weeks ago about hitherto unseen rates of depreciation for newer EVs.
Looks like you've found a few.
Still a lot of coin for a secondhand small hatchback, but they do look tempting if you really want an EV.
Passat estate sized car - what would that cost me? Not wanting an SUV, just a proper estate car?
Estate wise, full EV, pretty much the only one is the MG5, 20k plus if not major miles for the longer range car. Make sure it’s not an ex taxi, many will be!
As long as you don’t mind buying a car from the Chinese govt…
Oh they have - just not looking like the MG5. My ID4 is 543L expanding to 1575L. Passat Estate is still 650L to 1780L though. Of course the Tesla Y has 971L expanding to 2158L (or 854L expanding to 2041L depending on which website you look at)Just looked at the specs for the MG5 - major problem is the boot space - the Passat is almost 25% bigger, and I regularly use it all. So guess EV's not for me until they bring out something a bit more spacious.
And you won't be stopping for a wee, or food? The UK Government recommend that you make at least three 15 minute stops on that journey. With a 250 mile range you would need to stop twice for about 30 minutes or three times for 20 minutes. You are also probably going to be parked up for a bit waiting for a ferry to the Orkneys at the John O Groats ferry terminal which has some chargers.Seondary issue is the 250 mile range - I'm off to Orkney next month - can easily get there (from Suffolk) on a single tank of fuel, that's about 700 miles, and will still have spare.
You are going to a cottage with no electricity? Just gas lamps and fires? Otherwise they have charging points. 3 miles for every hour plugged in. Or you visit a public charger. The Orkneys have both.B&B's and cottage we're staying at all DON'T have EV charge points, so would have to find charging locations.
