Dont forget the black forest gateauxI can remember my parents having cheese and wine parties back in the early 70's, where bottles of Blue Nun and Liebfraumilch were regarded as the height of sophistication.

Of course .Oh, and does responding to this thread make me an old f*rt?
Abigail's party - missives from beigeland...I remember those parties. The ladies would wear kaftan-like dresses. They looked like a collection of hang-gliders.
Black Velvet, 1/2 Guinness 1/2 Cider, great to watch if the barman/woman hadn't poured on before & put the Guinness in first, it would go up like a volcano. We used to mix half a bitter with a gold label. That was really potent.
Strong stuff, 7.5%Nope. But it brings to mind one of my Dad's favoured tipples:

Wasn't a beer drinker, but he did like his 'barley wine' (rather odd, now I come to think of it - surely it was more of a beer than a wine?)

I like Blue Nun. In fact I'd have that over a £50 bottle of champagne any dayI can remember my parents having cheese and wine parties back in the early 70's, where bottles of Blue Nun and Liebfraumilch were regarded as the height of sophistication.
