Somebody correct me if I'm wrong (it was a long time ago) but I seem to remember from my teenage weekend job as a filling station attendant (remember those?) that the Vauxhall Velox had one of those flip-down number plates concealing the fuel filler.

I think you're right and remember those days well - petrol @ 3 gallons for a £1 and making a killing on green shield stamps as a lot of customers didn't bother taking them...
