If you add the numbers 1, 2 & 3 together you get six and this is so close to sex that the addition of flowers is obviously meant to send a message to readers of a bi monthly newsletter called "Bi Monthly". Subliminal I know but it is there for the initiated.

Yeah, I know. Quite a few years ago in Nottingham I had a moment akin to forgetting to unclip - stopped at traffic lights and forgot to put my feet down (like you do):blush:. All the traffic drove round me. I picked the bugger up (amazing the strength embarrassment can provide). Just as I had almost got it upright a bloke dashed over from the other side of the road and said, "are you alright mate?". <visor up>, "oooohhhhh - not mate!" :laugh:

I do a job most people would assume was male (collecting recycling, so a glorified binman). In winter I do this wearing a thick Hi-vis coat and usually waterproof trousers, steel toed boots, gloves and a wooly hat, making me a pretty shapeless bundle. I very often get people approaching me from behind with "Hey, mate...?" wanting to ask something,only for them to get all confused when I turn round and (hopefully!) reveal myself to be female!

<cue "Arch is a Girl!?!?!" gags>

I should say, I'm not bothered that people assume it's a male occupation. My boss has said "It's nice to have a female on the team" and I think I know what he means - although I wouldn't describe any of my colleagues as laddish at all, maybe having me on the team keeps things balanced. And thinking about it, both our main casual stand-ins are women, just by chance.

I had read Linford's post, so knew the rider was female.
Had I not, I would have assumed it was a guy too.
Nothing to do with sexism, more like an assumption based on probability.
Sexism would have been for someone to comment "this sport is not suitable/too dangerous/whatever for a woman.
You're not sexist imo @Spinney :thumbsup:
