If you want flash and *interesting* on a budget (~ £400), then how about a Seiko Presage Cocktail Time? I've seen these in the flesh, and the dials are absolutely stunning. The slate blue (Old Clock) and bottle green (Mockingbird) ones in particular. Sadly they don't do them in ladies' sizes which is truly irritating...

If you want flash, look at a used Breitling?

Although if concerned about theft and not fussed about brand, just get something relatively cheap and blingy? Plenty of those around too
eg Tissot

Mmm, this one's quite nice. 🤔

Coming up for auction on Saturday:
A Santos de Cartier steel and yellow gold wristwatch, with spare straps and buckle, with box and papers, unworn
Estimate £7,000 - £10,000, not really butch enough for Accy, I suspect.

A Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust wristwatch with aftermarket custom olive green dial and Arabic numerals, with box and papers
Est £6,000 - £9,000, and IMHO ugly as sin, with incomprehensible numerals.

A Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust wristwatch with aftermarket custom ice blue dial and Arabic numerals, diamond bezel, with box and papers
Est £6,250 - £9,000, even uglier and just as daft!

OK, enough of this nonsense. More seriously,
A Breitling 1884 Super Avenger Chronometer wristwatch, unworn, with box and papers
Est £3,000 - £4,500

Saving the more realistic to last,
An Omega Seamaster Professional Co-Axial Chronometer wristwatch, 300m/1000ft, boxed with papers
Est £1,500 - £2,200

I'm still wondering whether to expose myself to ridicule by showing you my recent buys from this auction house, a couple of Seiko and a Citizen ecodrive, each for a hammer price of £30.
