A pavement parking odyssey

Yup - there are builders just up the road
Only way past ina car is at a diagonal through the gap between their 3 vans
no idea why they need 3

On foot you need the same route - both pavements totally blocked

Or some parkours over the top :okay:

Someone this week blocked the cycle cage door at work so their precious '22 plate giant SUV could be parked well back, mirrors folded in. That meant all the staff who cycled in couldn't store their bikes securely nor access any lock they had in there.

I may have lifted the wipers up in frustration. But someone else worked out that if they climbed up the car they could access the bike cage from above. There were footprints and tyre drag marks all the way up and over the top.

I recall a story about a guy, I think in Germany, who simply carried on and walked over car roof whenever he came across one blocking the pavement. I think he did get busted but I've sometimes wondered about doing it when I've come across idiots blocking the pavement...and not just with two wheels. Some actually park the entire vehicle on the pavement :cursing: .

Here’s one I saw parking up; I watched thinking surely not oh .. yes he is! He got out and chatted with chip-shop and convenience shop people whilst kids ran about.
Obviously I tutted loudly from across the road to express my simmering fury!

It's unlawful. In England and wales (it may the the same for Scotland and NI but J just don't know) and road marking apply from the centre of the carriageway to the far edge of the footway. He is still parked on double yellows as far as the law is concerned.

What about walking over a car parked like that, is it still criminal damage? Or scratching it "by accident" with a wheelchair or a pram?

I think I know the spot, behind the school of engineering, wasn’t a Volvo by any chance, ps l do not own a Volvo

I'm told the thing to do is to remove the dustcaps, depress the valve, block it with a lentil, then replace the dustcap.
