It also doesn't help that the Borough Council say its the job of the County Council who say it's the job of the Police, who say its the job of the council..

Buck-passing

It almost certainly won't be county's job. If civil parking enforcement is in operation, it'll be borough, else police. https://www.gov.uk/government/publi...orities-with-civil-parking-enforcement-powers

When will the government just grasp the nettle and ruddy well ban parking on the path?
Pavement parking is about to be banned in Scotland but the law does not come into effect until 2021.
It is the job of the local authority to enforce this apparently. Our local councillor is confined to a motorised wheelchair and has already been hampered by pavement parking so I expect swift action.

Tell him not to hold his breath; the prohibition has been nobbled by the introduction of a 20 minute waiting time allowance.:banghead:
It is in fact a she not a he but the parking is by tourists who well exceed any reasonable time limit. Incidentally do you know which political party nobbled this to give the 20 minutes?

In Leighton Buzzard it appears to be compulsory to park on the pavement. Different rules apply.

The right to park on pavements is a privilege of the ruling classes not afforded to the likes of you and me... I know my place, two feet out from the gutter!

Indeed. Nice to see that twit Edmund "wan" King at the AA warning of woe and parking chaos if this is implemented.

Well there are 2 answers to Mr King...

1. Why has there been no such chaos and society reduced to a dystopian Mad Max state in London, where such parking has been banned for decades?

2. If it does cause parking chaos, then so be it - that's a problem for car owners to solve, not pedestrians to endure.

Absolutely. Knee jerk nonsense. We Londoners don't park on pavements because if you do you get a ticket. It's that simple. Look ma - no chaos!

If I parked outside my house with all four wheels on the road and the neighbour opposite did the same we'd be committing an offence, we'd be blocking emergency vehicle access.
