In our village theres a problem with cars parking on the grass verges and churning them up, so a load of new 'Do not park on the grass verge'signs have gone up.

Walking the dog this morning I came across a VW parked on the verge all of 2 feet from one of these signs. If I carried a phone I'd have snapped a pic for your entertainment.

I must start taking pics when out. I could fill 50 pages here just with my village alone

We used to have lovely grass verges near the school until this school year- must mean a set of lazy parents have started bringing their little darlings.

In a similar vein, there is a primary school just off this bend and in a morning there can be up to 6 cars/vans parked around the bend on the double yellows. I've reported it to the school but it still happens virtually every day when I go past. It's a blind bend as you can see and you have to go on the other side of the road and I've nearly had a coming together several times. Still as long as the little darlings don't have to walk more than 10 yards.

There's a grassed area up the road from me with a pathway bisecting it. The junction is quite wide and given the mix of old & new(ish) housing, it makes it feel 'village-like'. One road has the pavement suddenly vanish - very 'english village'^_^. Anyway, several years ago, council came along & filled in vehicle ruts due to drivers parking on verge/road. Deep rut - one was about 12 inches, kerb stone falling it.

Council put in plastic bollards...motorists parked completely on green. Council returned, bollards all round green...motorists drove down path to get access....motorists got notes put on their windscreen from annoyed resident.....Motorists don't park on green anymore, especially since council let grass grow tall:okay:.

Comfy armchair to one person & a plank to the next
As I cycled towards a pavement (well, cycleway) parker yesterday, the nobber drove straight at me, causing me to swerve onto the nearby gravel. Reported to the feds but it's rather annoying because that means I have to put a 64Gb card to one side until they finish :cursing:

Fair play for giving the school chance to issue an informal warning but I'd now report that to the police (highway obstruction causing safety issue near a school) and council (who probably collect the idiot-parking tax).

And why do parents feel the need to drive their little sh*ts to school? Oh that's right, to "protect them" from the traffic!!!

I just admit, more than once I've been tempted to take the calculated risk in the hope of flying up on the bonnet and screen. A big fat bar steward musclebound hunk like me would make a lot of mess, and if it were clear cut itd serve them right.

Alas, thus far I've chickened out, but one day..,

Yep, I'd report it that way too.

The school have no powers to stop this, all they can do is send out yet another email to parents asking them to stop doing it because it's endangering children. I get these emails quite a lot as the parents at my school are fat lazy winkers chained to the car, but those responsible haven't got the self awareness / shame gene, otherwise the emails and the parking would abate for a bit. They don't.

I do overtly take pictures of the ones who park on the zig zags outside my school, (and there's one a week roughly). They often get out and confront me, it's the usual bullsh!t arguments and threats, "You don't have my permission to film".... "it's illegal to film kids, are you a paedo?".... "you're invading my privacy, if you don't stop I'll punch you".
I just calmly state that if they're back on those zig zags endangering the children on foot once more, it goes to the enforcement people. I don't see the same car twice. It's all they understand. Selfish gits like this go on being selfish if they're never challenged.

Round my way they don't just park with two wheels on the pavement, they put the whole car / van on the pavement.
Then there's the too fat/lazy to park and walk to McDonalds gang.
The third group is Deliveroo riders parking on pavements, driving across pavements, up pedestrian crossings etc
Fair makes my blood boil.

I have tried reporting to both the council and cops but got nothing. Not even a response.

I spent five years from 1975-1980 walking to school 0.25 miles & I went home at lunchtime!!. Did a mile a day. Now, if you live more than 50 yards away, you apparently need a 4*4 the size of the USS Enterprise to ferry kids to school:wacko:.
