My self-effacement is only exceeded by your own.

If only I'd realised it was competitive..

Possibly, yes, depending on the content and context.
I find sexist and racist jokes funny though, I know that they're just for comedic effect rather than to induce hatred and degradation because I'm intelligent enough to know the difference.

I don't need to have my thinking changed because I know how to treat people with respect even though I find things funny.

I like the irony that a thread remarking on the widespread reading and posting on the news and current affairs section is now one of the most widely read and posted on current threads.

People must find stuff linked to news and current affairs interesting.

Someone could capitalise on this thirst for enlightenment, by creating daily or weekly bulletins, detailing up to date goings on in the world, and the dissection thereof.

Could catch on.. :okay:

I don't stand on stage and potentially offend people though do I, I find things comical without needing to be taught a new way of thinking or to be 'enlightened' I also know the content of some comedy probably would offend people but my views on such comedy doesn’t make me a racist or a rapist.

I have broadened my learnings so much by 'random people on the internet'. In fact, my whole career is based on it. If I only learnt from people face to face I would have existed in a pretty small bubble, much of it echoing itself. I may not agree with everything random on the internet, but I certainly learn from large parts of it.
I learnt how to change a heater motor on my van off the internet, views of the World not so much.

You asked a direct question and I answered. As I said, content and context matters. It is for you to set your own standards, and for others to form a view based on what you do, say, and share. That’s true for all of us, here as in real life.

Unless we meet in person, all we have to go on is words and images on a screen. The now moderated image you posted elsewhere was unfunny, factually incorrect, and designed by whoever originated it to encourage racial hatred. Your sharing of it can’t, in my view, be excused by saying it was just for comedic effect.

But that’s just my opinion. I’m just another bloke on the internet.
