I did. I’m hopeful that I wasn’t alone.

And I agree that good moderation is what makes this a worthwhile forum.

You were not alone.

Sir, the aforementioned is clearly unquestionable to one of His Majesty's road users such as I!

"if you think you understand quantum mechanics, then you don't"

Feynmann (perhaps aprocryphally)

Still fun trying to understand things though.

We did the coriolis effect over dinner..

'parrently the plug hole thing is a myth.

Which is a bit dissapointing

But I've decided to keep on believing in the possibility, until I get sponsorship for a world cycle tour to prove it conclusively one way or another.

What's your point, caller?
I'm not entirely sure. Maybe that posting pictures of murdered people isn't going to do a thing. Nobody on CC is going to wake up and think "Thanks for reminding me not to kill somebody today ".
For what it's worth, I have a lot more sympathy for Charlotte Corday than for Jean-Paul.

She, Reed, died at her own hands in Holloway. On remand for assault.

You asked a direct question and I answered. As I said, content and context matters. It is for you to set your own standards, and for others to form a view based on what you do, say, and share. That’s true for all of us, here as in real life.

Unless we meet in person, all we have to go on is words and images on a screen. The now moderated image you posted elsewhere was unfunny, factually incorrect, and designed by whoever originated it to encourage racial hatred. Your sharing of it can’t, in my view, be excused by saying it was just for comedic effect.

But that’s just my opinion. I’m just another bloke on the internet.
And that's why People are different, if the Image I posted in your view encourages racial hatred then you are very different to me and that's fine.

I'm more than happy with my standards thank you 😊

Is it time for us to wheel out the pink card again..??

And you didn't think I'd realise what sort of reaction it would receive from some?

Mmm imagine not understanding the concept of raising awareness, and keeping an issue more at the front of people's minds.

Ending violence against women that is...

Oh well at least it reminds the gals not to go and

"Get themselves murdered*"

- * Yup actually a phrase used on these boards.

And you didn't think I'd realise what sort of reaction it would receive from some?

And you thought that it was OK to be offensive ?

You don't think we're all a bit responsible for creating the society we live in ?

Part of which includes what we post.

It's interesting because, a lot of the time you seem genuinely curious about these new-to-you ideas.

Other times not so much.

Oh well, we're all a bit inconsistent at times, that's humanity for you.

It's helping a family friend that's studying psychology. Their thesis is on the Dunning-Kruger effect, and there's a whole host of worked examples on there. :okay:

Sadly, they find their way on to here too.

It'll be revealing to see who thinks this hat fits them. :becool:

We're all really just lab rats in a massive social experiment..

I'm here to skew the findings, in favour of these guys..

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others,
even to the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
