Well that is ZA workout #9 done. Pretty hard especially with my new ftp. The last 2 min interval was tough but I managed to hang on. Just #10 and one group ride to do.

Then I'd best have a go at the 2 challenges that you guys have laid down. The big Innsbruck climb and the short climb on the ring circuit.

And the big climb in reverse for good measure. Steeper, nastier-you will love it:okay:

I found ZA#9 tough. I popped at the end of last 30 second effort and had to rest the first half of the last 2 minute effort.

ZA#10 today was better. I was able to complete it at 105%. Though I was hating life in the mid point of those intervals.

Still need to do ZA7 and ZA8, then the races which will serve as an FTP test :-)

Overall I've found the ZA workouts this time a bit easier, but that might be a result of focusing more on staying in the saddle at a better cadence. It made the shorter efforts much easier, even with ERG on.

Did you do it last year? Participants had to start with an ftp. It was horrible, the long one at 1h 30m. The workouts that followed were also generally longer last year and perhaps a bit too hard. The change seems to have encouraged more people to complete the ZA which is great.

I start 6wk beginner's ftp builder. My body and leg are give a sign that i need to do something different. After a couple workout's it feels as a good decision. Because of a shift work i hope i can stay in a schedule.

How are you finding the change in turbo trainer?

It feels way more realistic. In a mountains i feel that i need 1-2 extra gears. I have now 52/36 and 11-28. Something like 50/34 11-28 would be more practical now. With Bkool Smart Pro i didn't have that issue. Better start training from the very beginning . Bkool give me good power output sometimes, my ftp was 294. But now with Drivo 2 i would say it's closer to 200 than 300, much closer.

Quick measurement question. Those of you who have a Neo, what is the width and length of the footprint it sits on? anyone working from home to measure for me

I just measured 755 x 610mm allowing for fact footprint in length is 550 as Rob suggests but their is a bit that protrudes further though not in contact with floor.

Don’t forget in Zwift you can reduce the trainer difficulty/resistance setting and so increase cadence without any impact on power output. That’s way you won’t need to replace your crankset.
