View attachment 427432 Just raced after 9 days off the bike- I want my Mammy!

Feck- so easy to forget it’s just brutal sometimes. Pulled away with the faster B’s and 4 of us managed to hold for 3 1/2 of 4 laps of the ring and then BOOM! Off they went a 4-6w up the hill for the 4th time. I was 3s behind at the top and then as a group they sped away down. I chased but was no way capable of bridging so rode in all alone for the last 2.5km.
That's happened to me *so* many times. Cruising with the group for the vast majority of the race, then on the penultimate or final climb they hit the gas one more time while I pop. I knew I was improving when that no longer happened -- I may not have had anything in the tank for the finish, but when I started hanging on for that last climb it was a huge moral victory. Going to go through it all over again as I work my way back...

I wondered where you was on the last sprint so I backed off, only to see you storm past :banghead:Was a slow group ride today but suited me well as legs were tired. A couple of days rest now before I get stuck in again :okay:
It took me 2 laps to realise where the sprint actually starts. And so used to staying seated on the pro it’s going to take some getting used to this sprinting.
Was the most stretched out group ride I’ve ever been on but enjoyed it all the same. :okay:

It was very stretched. After the first climb I was miles out front and soft pedaled at 1.5 w/kg until virtually at the climb again on next lap before the beacon caught me. I then thought I'd go up the climb the 2nd time so as not to go far ahead; but a few guys were struggling so I stayed with them up the climb and over the top. I then tried to pace 2 guys back but they just didn't seem interested in getting back into the blob. By now the beacon is 43 seconds up the road. I decided to TT across and was at 250-300 watts for a couple of minutes before I caught up, and that's when I saw you for the first time :hello: Third climb I powered up as hard as I could :training: Yep, good little workout :okay:

That's 6 days in a row now for me doing a ride - never done that many days before! Actually feeling OK. Could have carried on tonight if it wasn't for the fact that I had to sort out tea for HID. Will ride tomorrow evening too although can't do Thursday as I have physio in the afternoon. You speedsters need to watch out, Whorty is coming for ya :boxing::gun::ninja::whistle:
Damn scary thought!

The little climb on the Innsbruck 'flat' course ..... not too shabby, if I say so myself. If only I could shed half my weight I could be challenging @berty bassett :mrpig:

Late October in Europe?

I asked dcrainmaker a few days ago and he said to me he thinks they’ll start shipping to Europe in November. And even then you might not get one for a few weeks after that. It’s a bit of a pain. Last year I didn’t get the atom until early December and that was a giant pain. It’s ok if the weather stays dry I don’t mind going out. But if it’s wet like last year then you can lose a month or so worth of conditioning as I did. On balance it’s worth the wait. Hopefully I get on the list near the top.
