Poor fella

I know how it feels racing you lightweights - have a little sympathy for us heavyweights ;)

But looks at the maths ,he weighs twice what Andy Feather does but didn't take twice as long (apart from the lying down bit ) 😂 . Just think how quick he went down it

SIL. Did a little bit of analysis on my racing score. Though I'm bottom third for most power figures, my short term power is better than average. He thinks I'm destined to float around the boundary mark, but thinks I will never permanently drop into D, unless I lose my sprint top end- god forbid

Or Zwift move the boundaries -again :hello:

The way they have built their algorithm I can see the majority of people floating around boundaries, thus no consistency over who we race week by week. People should be in a race cat and stay there UNLESS they are consistently too strong and get promoted, or too weak and get relegated. The majority of people should not be flitting between cats.

An interesting test would be to add the 65kg on to Feather and see how he performs. I don't think he'd even get up the climb as his legs are noy used to pushing enough power to move that weight.

Or add helium balloons to the heavyweight to reduce his weight to 65kg - I'd like to try that haha

I found this this evening, is this what you're mentioning?

Interesting - thanks for sharing.

I wonder if all those across the various social media platforms who tried to shut the likes of me up when I said their model was farcical will acknowledge that I was correct, and Zwift re-writing their seed calculation proves that. To anyone with a maths background it was so obvious the model was poor.

I look forward to seeing the new seed numbers and ZRS scores to see if they have it better, but I'm remain sceptical until then.

I do still think they are going about this the wrong way, but they've pushed ZRS so much now, and spent so much time and money on it, that they feel they need to keep pushing on.

I think you know the answer to that. It was clearly not right from day 1, but I thought they would be a lot quicker fixing it. I also thought it would self-correct a lot better than it has, which is why I wanted to give it a decent chance.

That is justified.

I still think it will get better with time. I just don't know if we'll all still be here when it's good

Unfortunately I have the benefit of a statistical degree and a maths background, so I could probably (pun intended) see how the model was constructed better than most. That's where some of my frustration was coming from, that and being place in the above 350 group when I was still a D cat racer
I still think they will end up going back to something like the CE system, although they'll call it something else to save face.
I do hope it gets better though as it's distracting at the moment and has spoiled racing for a large number of people.

Carl you were right

My own experience was, I went from top 30% C to bottom 30% C. This was because riders who could now hold between 3.5-3.9W/kg for a 30 min event were in my grouping. Had I been 10-20 points less, I would have been in similar W/kg rider results to myself and everything would've been dandy.

Lets hope they get it right 🙏

His Watts per kg 2.79 for the climb if you ignore all the rest periods.

He needs a hell of a lot of cardio training to get up a climb like Alp D Huez He needs to gear down massively, and should not stand up under any circumstances whilst climbing ^_^
