I'm going to have to do this and see how my Zwift time compares to real life aren't I?!

Of course

Did I read they are shutting it to traffic periodically to encourage walkers/cyclists?

It's in consultation to do that once a month or something - I think it's a great idea so I completed the survey on it the other day. It's closed now actually but for pedestrians and bikes as well as cars (due to safety work on the rocks). But they closed it just to cars for a bit during Covid and it was fantastic just to be able to walk up the road through the gorge with no traffic, so hopefully it will happen

Alex's Friday Smash

City n Suggr buggered the recording again.

Knew I was up against it with everyone much lighter than me. I went early on the first ramp hoping to get a lead that would keep me in touch over the crest- alas not. Alex came flying past with his other C riders in hot pursuit.

This left me leading Phil by a few seconds.-That didn't last, he came by, got a comfy 8 secs over the crest banner.

I had to use the best features of steering and gravity to catch him just before we turned around to climb from the other side. Surprisingly I managed to get a gap on the second ascent, again I was steering around the shorter radius to keep him at bay. I was literally dying now wanting the last climb to end as he ate into my lead. Thankfully finished just ahead.

Lots of segment PB's and new 5 min power

A interesting tactical battle between me and Andy this morning on Alex's smash fest , lighter climber versus self proclaimed fatty on the city and the sugar so plenty of up and down . I gambled on a gravel set up ,knowing the start is neutralised making the course more gravel than tarmac , I was hoping on the gravel descent the gravel set up would counteract Andys weight ,it didn't , but I made Andy work all the way up and at one stage I did think I'd get him but the legs gave out .
Andy going early on the first climb was unexpected, the plan was to sit in until halfway then go so I probably burnt too many matches on the first climb which I did pr
Shame about the recording Andy would have like to see it

Yes, it would have shown the benefit of steering on such a twisty circuit :okay:

The gravel bike no longer has an advantage on the Sgurr. I did some testing last week. Today I did 3:32 up Sgurr North on Tron with average 308Watts with hardly any draft
In ZRL last march I did 3:31 on gravel bike at 312W with more draft.
But since then they’ve changed the Crr of road bikes on gravel.
So your saying if I hadn't gone gravel I would have beaten Andy 😂
