As long as I breathe, I attack.
well after doing the rapha 500 on zwift im still waiting for my kit , support promised it would be credited to my account but no sign so far .
I will be on in a bit and maybe tomorrow , it should be a club ride but everyone else is riding today ( around 16-18 in 2 groups ) but not a single one wants to ride sunday so if its close to freezing i will be on here rather than outside

You kept that quiet, weel done :okay: I think only a few posters managed to complete it this year.
Do you get an actual kit or virtual ?

I keep promising myself to do it, regrettably I think it would involve a divorce or my death before I could complete it.

its a virtual kit , i know its not real and doesnt really mean anything but if i "won" the kit they should have sorted it .
Oddly i thought the winner was supposed to have been announced by now but i havent seen anything ?

I was doing 2x pacer sessions a day , legs were hurting by the 3rd day but by the end i was getting into a groove .

Wow @Alex and @Joffey start pen seemed miles back well done both getting on especially @Joffey .I strangely enjoy these smash fest which I don't don't suit me but there dam good fun thanks for putting them on Alex and sorry for making you do all the work at 7km 😂

I did think steering was a gimmick until Alex's Glasgow crit race , a 2 up race for me and the guy just spent the whole race steering me off his wheel ,the penny dropped then , that's the first time in a bigger group I noticed I seemed to be just on the side ,
Was going to treat myself to steering for Xmas but my wahoo screen went so I replaced that ,steering a future purchase

Steering is definitely useful and fun and even though it's much more expensive than it ought to be, I have no regrets about buying it.
At my level and for the type of racing I enjoy, there is no doubt that steering gives an advantage...

* on twisty courses you can shorten the course and pass people on corners
* you can get back in draft quickly
* you can deny others draft (if they don't have steering)

That's why most of the main racing series have it switched off e.g. DRS, ZRL and FRR in the name of fairness. But most other races have it on.
Peter is so strong now that he's able to power through any disadvantage. Us old gits need all the help we can get.

A few people do have problems with steering, but it's been fine for me with iPad and Macbooks.

To begin with I found it HARDER as it does mean one more thing to concentrate on. But within a few races it becomes second-nature and you will find you miss it in ZRL/DRS/FRR when it's not there. (Although you can still use the other control buttons).

I find I use tactical braking a bit too, to get off the front and into the draft if I've slightly overdone it.

I do like steering - the neobike enabled it just before the zwiftplay dropped. You can definitely overuse it - if you take the racing line every corner you'll end up wasting energy as it generally takes you out of optimal draft. It is very useful for holding onto a pack though if its starting to stretch; manoeuvring behind someone moving up, making sure your avatar doesn't go off to the side as it sometimes seems to want to - and if you are going to cut the shortest line through a corner you can put down a bit of extra power and it helps you catch riders a little bit ahead. Also very useful if you are going downhill on supertuck trying to escape a small group downhill or when sprinting and getting people out of draft. TT and steep inclines would also have an impact.

all in all it doesn't (and shouldn't as its not fair on those that don't/can't get it) make a massive difference but it does make it a tiny bit more immersive and if you are switched on you can gain a tiny advantage, even if it is in your own head.

Exactly that. Used WELL it can be advantageous. Used BADLY it can be a disadvantage for sure.
