Shift work been shown to shorten life expectancy by up to 10 years , so when the government expects us to work in my case till 67 or even longer for younger people old hands like me wonder how the expect us to continue ? not so bad if you have an office job but I can only manage the job now let alone for another 11 years .
Last night was the 1st time since we finished work over a week ago i have managed to get a full nights sleep in as i was waking up around 4 am no matter what time i went to bed as my early shift alarm is 3.45 am

Anyway back to topic
61 km left for the rapha challenge , i want to get it done and dusted but as above i woke up "late" aka 6.45 am and working around family cant get an hour in till around 10.30 , if i can push on i will try to get it in one session but the legs are tight atm

Yes it's important unions know this kind of thing and make sure people are paid appropriately

Call me a grumpy old git, but that's one of the reasons I have chat switched off.

Yeah maybe I'm getting old but that seems a bit extreme/dull. 6-8 hours of robopacers? I doubt I'll be on my deathbed regretting not pushing past 5 hours on the turbo.

That was a bit of a grumpy post. I do admire extreme endurance feats, and maybe he does real world mega rides but if it's just for the sake of it it's a bit odd

I find indoor riding boring after about 1-1.5 hours. I'm going to try Indievelo today. Got an elimination race at 1800 if anyone fancies a try.
I've called it "Preliminator" probably will just be me and 21 'bots, but I'm keen to check out the platform and see what it offers.

I find it's boring after 1-1.5min. Probably some kind of moving force drag me to my pain cave, or maybe knowing that it's useful when summer comes.

It is a pretty bland riding experience compared to Zwift and most other platforms, but it is free and offers a lot for race organizers etc. The world is quite limited too, and it all more or less look the same. And I just don't like bots.

I may well end up feeling the same way, but I'm curious to try it. I won't be giving up Zwift any time soon though.

I'll be interested to see what you think. How about MyWhoosh as well?

Pretty much my thoughts, too. I like the variety of different race formats, but the bots’ performance is a little contrived. I certainly wouldn’t ride around the IV world to enjoy the view and variety of landscapes. Free is a very good price, though!

How many real people? Fun format; bkool has a velodrome don't they? Not sure why zwift doesn't

That's the thing. I have no idea. I thought there were some because I set the race up 24 hours ago and it split into four pens. So surely there must have been some real people, right? But there is no way to tell. So I have no idea. They didn't seem to surge for the line much though, or maybe I just had a better sprint. It was bloody hard work and I did get dropped near the start. Hard to say really, but the important thing is it was great fun and I will be back for more

No question that the graphics aren't quite as good as Zwift, but when you're balls out racing it makes no difference as long as they're good enough.

The names of the bots usually give them away. Pretty easy to spot on that alone.
