After several years of not having my dedicated cadence (magnetic pickup) I got that working again last night. I can drop the inbuilt cadence from the Tacx Neo That has been erratic with it's readings

Scratched the contacts again comes to life 😁

I thought you were on a smart bike now @CXRAndy (I can't remember which type?) - did that not work out, and you're back on your Neo trainer?

I chop and change between the two Paul. I just can't get the same ride experience from the Stages bike. I tend to use Stages for endurance rides and race on the Neo. I find the Stages harder to ride with power, but it works to my advantage after several longer sessions on it. I'm then stronger on the Neo😁

My family are beginning to use my gym setup more regularly now, so they can jump on the Stages and do rides, with it easy to adjust for different riders. That was part of my justification to buy it.

Never seen anything like the numbers on this guys profile who I just raced with:

Nearly 400 watts for the whole race and says he is 28 stone. No real photos of him on his profile, not linked to Strava, YouTube channel just Zwift races.

Fair play is he’s ‘real’ but in my prime I was doing 340 watts for 30 mins at best and that was me smashing the arse out of myself, not Max HR of 158!!! I’m not so sure.

Also weird race - people smashing it, turning round, smashing it some more. I think there may be a way to cheat Cat Enforcement maybe by doing that? It’s the hardest D race I’ve been in anyway, much harder than ZRL  That’s my excuse anyway, they are all cheating, not that I am a fat, unfit buffer

There are two TyDiddys as far as I know. Jr and Snr. Jr rides a spin bike and the data is generally regarded with "a pinch of salt".
I think Jr has a YouTube channel and is cycling as a weight loss thing. All very commendable, but the data is "questionable"

Stage 6 Frr done just a gentle warm up for tomorrow just 48km round London and twice up Fox hill , Out the gate up Fox hill found a group on the descent round London back up Fox found a smaller group on the descent which I marshalled until 6km to go when we were caught by 3 ABR riders with a much higher cat pulling 2 team mates ,half our group jumped on and let him pull us to the finish 😁,Despite the fatigue in the legs I had a go at both sprints on the mall and went faster on the 2nd one did manage to hit 10w/kg (for about a second) which is massive for me 730 watts
King stage tomorrow every Surrey hill multiple times

Saturday morning thrash with Tiniest. Bitterly cold outside, freezing fog, just right temp in the gym

Stage 7 of FRR somehow completed ,that's the nearest I've come to quitting a race I was struggling to hold 2w/kg up hill at the end . Really messed it up climbed Fox hill went over the top in a group of 10 relaxed too much on the descent lost the wheels spent most of the next 50Km on my own . 2hrs 18mins of suffering what great fun ,just 54km round a nice rolling in Yorkshire tomorrow
