Haven't done a non cat enforcement race in a while - does zwiftpower not filter at all anymore?

Ive noticed on some of my events, that riders exceeding what I thought was the cat boundary, remain on the results. The only thing that seems to Dq is no HRM.

I actually dont know now the cut off for each cat since the change in measurement

If it’s not a category enforced race then the organiser still needs to configure ZwiftPower separately to DQ riders over the limit, which some of them do and others don’t.

The first race I did after dropping back into D, I joined without really looking at the details (only the course and distance) and assumed it had cat enforcement as most races did nowadays. I only realised it must not have been once riding, given how quick some of the riders were (one was doing B numbers and a handful were Cs). However they all got DQ’d in ZwiftPower afterwards, so that clearly still can happen.

As it turns out, between those over the limits, those without HRMs and those not actually registered on ZP at all, there was only one rider listed in D at the end - me! A win’s a win I guess.

If someone is allowed in a category according to CE it would be wrong to DQ them afterwards (unless rules were published in the description). But hopefully they would be Catted up for next time. 20-minute power is pretty irrelevant to CE on its own though, so pointless to look at that and say "you should be in B".

I've pasted the CE thresholds here a number of times - although they have tweaked them a couple of times, I don't think that's been done recently. The whole thing is a bloody mess though, which is why I do DRS which sidesteps it. In a typical CE B race you'll have people all the way from gold to diamond - that spans 6 ZR.app categories and explains why people work so hard to avoid going from C to B. It's just such a HUGE step up. Even double categories (Amethyst and Platinum) like we have in the "Atlantic" morning League are fine, but I can't keep up with people 3-5 categories above me.

It is rumoured that Zwift's new "Race Score" will be out soon and should be a step in the right direction, but we'll just have to hope it turns out better than SBP

Did a very short TT on IndieVelo last night, after a fun workout on Zwift. It was 3:41 of (mostly) pain but I won. AIUI most of the other competitors on IV are bots, so I’m not sure how the program works out what speed to send them out at, but it obviously miscalculated because I won by 10s over 2.6km! Still trying to work out how to upload IV screenshots onto Strava…

Anyone got a stages SB20? Few threads on Reddit and trainerroad with people speculating they are on the cusp of going out of business. Not sure if veracity. Not sure if true but would be huge shame. The stages bike is supposed to be excellent, and I'm sure a few people have the crank arm PM

I have a short break of cycling now. Noticed that i have wear too big cycling shoes. Especially when i ride with trainer my foot is moving too much in a shoe and causing blisters and abrasions. I ordered smaller Lake shoes (same model) what should fit better and prevent any issues. Too big shoes obiously causes loss of power as well, i hope that lack improves as well.
