Well that's definitely not me, I found the old dumb trainers purgatory, I enjoy the smart trainers, I might just take a punt on the play controllers

Personally I don't need any kind of steering system, at least not yet. Auto steering is do the thing perfectly, it is what I need for now. But for example navigation hotkeys are very welcome on game controller. I can leave my phone for other purposes while I ride on Zwift, like tv programs etc. I hope the buttons work perfectly on that game controller without delay.

I noticed when I select game controllers from the shop that they are still a beta version. It sound that they are still under a development, maybe other versions are coming or more updates. Or pull out the market, who knows.

Its the software/firmware, which is getting regular updates, 3 times I think so far

Have you noticed any difference after updates, are controllers working any better or have you noticed any difference at all before and after updates?.

They seem to connect faster and more reliably, compared to when I first got them. I would lose one side of the controller, so could only steer left for example. No dropouts since recent updates

I quite enjoyed my ride despite 2 training sessions yesterday and waking at 3-30am and not being able to get back to sleep. Careful not to blow up at the start I was about 240 out of 480ish and pretty much finished in same position. 220w NP for 1h 33 so no complaints. I didn’t see any other CC’ers.

How did you get on with the FRR event?

I ended up 68th out of 480ish in the event. 6th in GC in my category after half of the races.

I found keeping up with the front pack much easier than ever before. Mad start, as always, but then everyone was very reasonable. I messed up the first sprint and went too early, so outside top 10 for that. Then, pretty much held the A wheels up until the foot of the first hill. Managed to get up Fox at a decent pace, descent with a nice group and then actually get 2nd time on the 2nd sprint. Again, decent pace up Box, descent and then 5-6th out of a group of 20-25 at the finish.

Legs feeling good and ready for tomorrow, which should be similar - lots of flats and 5 minute hills.

I got a new fan yesterday for my birthday (which was actually last week, but there was a snafu with DHL and it took way longer to arrive than it should have) as I needed to replace the tower fan that sits behind me, which broke down a few months back leaving me with only two fans (one of which is pretty weedy).

I thought this was going to be pretty much a like for like swap, but it turns out the new one is a lot more powerful - to the point where I actually turned it DOWN while riding as I was starting to getting a bit chilly! Okay I'm sure in the heat of summer it'll be back on max settings, but for now this is turning out to be a really good gift.
