What event you doing Andy

Dambusters out of Woodhall Spa. It's a 100 mile loop taking in several airbase museums from WW2. The Petwood hotel was the mess for the pilots -if you didn't already know. You get to see the spitfires, Lancaster's etc at different bases

I acted as breakdown cover for my daughters boyfriend last year to see the route, get photos etc.

Does it stick to the flat bit or are all the bases up on the ridge like Scampton etc . One of the Leicester Cyclechat group is in to aviation so on our Leicester to Lincoln rides we have visited quite a few of the bases

From what I've seen of the route it's pretty flat, one or two climbs, nothing overly demanding.

I'm hoping to just float at the back of a pack for most of the route. A few young men will hopefully push the air out of the way

… my elder son has got a terrible cold and it seems only a matter of time before he gifts it to me…
Lo and behold, what had been a slightly drippy nose, for a week or so, has now transmuted into full-blown snuffling and sore throat….
I’d also had an infected follicle between my right buttock and undercarriage which I think turned into an open wound during my race on Monday morning, and is smarting somewhat, so it might be a good time to have a bit of enforced time out of the saddle anyway.

I could tell you an horrific tale of what you are suffering with your undercarriage. Extreme hygiene/cleanliness is the order of the day

Wife's work colleague got a boil on his arse, which developed into necrotizing fasciitis, lucky to be alive, massive section of his buttock and associated region removed to save his life :ohmy:xx(

It's the burrito PU he needs to be wary off, if he's sitting too far back in the pack

I hate those things - that Glasgow crit race put me off them for life.

The burrito doesn't seem to be as effective with PD4

or

I was just on a good day and powered through the loss of draft

I'm liking PD4 far better than PD3, the churning has all but gone, more consistent power, I can visually see it on my power profile from Strava.
There is slightly better draft when in the pack so you can hang in for longer. Its getting there towards outdoor feel

See the difference in my power graphs, far more spikey with PD3, trying to keep position in the pack
