Well there's your time to beat so far, if you exclude my test run of course.

Yeah, I forgot how long it can take to get out of the pens to the line where the clock in the top corner starts ticking, though your time at the finish does include this extra bit as well. For that reason I've revised my test run time (which I'm using as a pace guide when I do my proper attempt on Thursday) to 24:58.

It put me right at the back pen as well, which seemed rather nasty as there was nobody else riding. And 10xp for a powerup on the lap banner.

Today's other news is that ZP categories will be disappearing from ZwiftPower profiles in favour of CE at around 1300...

Found this on WTRL site. I'd not heard anything elsewhere so taking with a pinch of salt until I see it happen (like SBP )

As of March 28th, 2023, ZwiftPower will no longer show the original Zwiftpower legacy category for each rider. It is being replaced with the Zwift category system as used by Zwift Category Enforcement (ZCE)

I got a draft van, which is equally as great in a non-drafting event where you're also the only competitor!

Strava says that on my test run I was probably about 5-6 seconds up on you at the end of the (downhill) lead-in, but you were 38 seconds up on me by the time you reached the wooden suspension bridge at the top of the hill. Our times then only varied by a few seconds either way for the remainder of the course.

@steverob
I've signed up for tonight but a bit touch and go whether I'll make it
Would shunting it to 7:15 make it easier? I think @IrishAl commented earlier that it'd be touch and go to make it - similarly, I'll be dropping Andrew at Cubs at 6:30 and racing back home to make it, so a later start would allow me a bit of breathing room for getting my HRM paired etc... It's only a 25 minute ride...
@alex_cycles just made me realise that since we'll be using gravel bikes, there will be power ups. Do we take advantage?
I'm going to abstain from using any powerups that I do get. I don't think they'd make a huge difference anyway.

I think I'm going to try to be on Discord tonight, though I can't see that I'll be in a fit state to be saying anything...

Yes I did give it my best on the climby part, then felt like I was slacking on the downhill after that when I dipped below 200w, but there wasn't much I could do about that.

I don't mind if there's a shift in the start time. Available either way.

Noted on the powerups - will bin mine as well :okay:

Can you turn off powerups for club events?

No. These are the only things you can tweak (and this is not Steve's event, it's a quick test one I knocked up to show you)...

@CXRAndy - would you be okay with putting back tonight's ride by about 15 minutes? I think everyone else signed up so far is cool with it, but I won't make any changes without unanimity.

Regarding powerups, as Alex said there's no way to turn them off for Club events (although if we hadn't been on dirt and therefore been using TT bikes, there wouldn't have been powerups anyway) and the ones we will get are the same that you get if you are free-riding, which is 29% small XP bonus, 25% feather, 25% draft van, 20% aero helmet and 1% large XP bonus. The aero might be semi-useful on the downhill but not massively, while the feather would be a very good drop to have, but all the rest are useless to us. As there's only the one banner (as the finish is at the second banner) that's a 55% chance of getting essentially nothing, so I'll leave it to your decision as to whether you use what you get or not.

Hey, at least there's no burritos!

Thanks Alex for the guidance
