I don't know what my CTL is or was. 3 rides a week plus all other stuff around the farm seems plenty. Actually I've done 5 rides since Sunday including outdoor. Wonder I felt pooped

Roy has advised me not to exceed a ramp rate of 2 per week. Course I'm a lot older than youse!

It’s doing well for you - that was a great ride you did on Tuesday night.

I’ve always found that my best form has come around after a big, depleting effort round 7-10 days before. Both my 10- and 25-mile TT PBs were set within a few weeks after I rode the National 12 Hour in 2002. And my HM and 5k PBs were set whilst training for the White Peak Marathon in 2015, during lulls in my training block.

I felt I had consistent power on Tuesday

My outdoor rides are only short and on a ebike. It does allow me to stay in the Z2 whatever the terrain does, hills don't alter effort.

Mrs and I had mid afternoon lunch around 20 miles trip in the blowing wind and unwelcome rain yesterday ⛈️

Chart for next week's race, because it's a custom length and the Fox Hill segment is weird (starts after the climbing has begun, then finishes well after the summit):

Imperial distances gathered from a video of a previous ride I did, then converted to metric so those numbers may be off slightly.

Thanks Steve - really useful diagram. I'm hoping to make the race next Thursday so looks like I'd better practice my climbing!

Looks like I'm heading back to Calpe ^_^ Hopefully this time I won't contract Covid!

My mates have just booked a trip to Calpe in April that I'll tag along to. 7 nights in the same hotel as last time.

If anyone watched the Tour of Valencia last month, you will have seen the roads we'll be riding on.

Looking forward to this, been avoiding the London hills for too long and good to have a bit of variety. It'll be damage limitation for me rather than trying to gain any time or places. If Peter has fresh legs it'll be interesting to see him and Tim do battle on the slopes
