Good result :okay:

Very nice. You both finished with a great sprint. Well done. :okay:

The MTB made me laugh, but I was pleased you passed him on the climb Andy

Andy not watched all the video ,please tell me you beat the guy on the mountain bike ,did he think the cobbles were that rough
There's a wee bug on Zwift: When you join the pen on one bike and then make a change it doesn't alway register.

So you can troll people by doing your warm-up on a MTB, joining the pen, switching the bike and everyone seeing you on said MTB during the event, despite riding an aero setup.

Not sure if this was the case in this race, but a possibility.

I'm doing the Zwift TT Club again tonight - don't have the time to be able to do the TTT, unfortunately.

I looked at your race this morning, @alex_cycles , and did some Strava-stalking on the winner, because I thought it unusual that a 46-year-old woman would turn out 318W at 72.5kg. Even more unusually, her average cadence was just 61rpm.

So I went out hot and did 328W for nine minutes, but then my legs went wobbly and I averaged only 299W for the remaining 4.5 minutes...
I seem to get this quite a lot when I'm TTing above threshold - I keep a flat power profile for about 8-10 minutes, then my power goes spiky as I tire and struggle to keep it up. I don't experience this with more measured efforts.
This is last night's:

Here was a recent Tempus Fugit effort:

This was a dreadful one - the legs gave up very early on

Even when I did my PB, it was pretty spiky from quite early in the ride - notably, my average power didn't drop off appreciably on this ride:

Does anyone else get this?

I just watched your race again Martin, love the noises of pain at the finish-made me chuckle:okay:

I don't dare record my audio

If you have enough breath to talk, you're not working hard enough  Loved seeing the JV kit. I wear JV kit in summer
Yes those finish noises were familiar. I'm off at 1110 I doubt I will have enough left at the end for such an epic sprint as you guys. If I can make it to the end with the front pack I will be delighted. At least we've only got to punch up those climbs once each instead of 4x 😄

Race like a Pro stg 2

Fast start which I always find it a shock. Went all in on the first climb, held the first group. 2nd climb came too quick for me to compose myself, semi blew up. Hung onto second chasing pack. Told myself just hang on for the last climb in this group and I have a good chance for the sprint. Cruised around, went early came from 35th to finish 13 th on Zwift, 11th ZP

Just watched your vid. Looked very similar to my race - even down to you holding onto the aero powerup for the final sprint. Nice sprint by the way - you did go early.

Can I request some commentary next time :okay:

You are gonna love RGV!

It will be a walk in the park for you Alex. Those climbs should pose no real problems to you :okay:

Save your energy and go long before the roundabout for the sprint. By time the big boys have realised you will be far enough in front

Alex, if you'd done C cat. Your time would have seen you battling for the podium

That decision was made for me by the overlords of CE

Quite a slow heat compared to yours and Martin's, perhaps because of fewer riders (37 starts, 24 on ZP) ? Video is still uploading but will be here when done...

I held on up the climbs but then got distanced just before the Libby banner. Then made up a group of 3 which became 5, then 6, then 8, but although I popped to the front occasionally to try and get the buggers working, they weren't pushing on as much as I wanted. (Good domestiques are SO HARD to find these days ) But that meant I had a bit left for a sprint. Kind of copied what you and Martin did as I had an aero helmet at the end. Triggered it well before the sprint started. One guy drafted me, which was sensible since he had the draft powerup, then he flew past. The rest of them were never seen again. I normally get killed in a B race sprint, so that was a nice change

Unbeknown to me I had a sneaky practice on RGV yesterday just did the route as I hadn't done it before . Had a unofficial race with someone I caught up and he hopped on my wheel and we rode 3/4 of the course together picking up riders ,group was up to 7 at one time but kept changing . Anyway coming into the finish I was thinking is it rude to go for a sprint as he went for it . So full gas sprint to the end he did pip me which is my normal sprint result but good fun . Exchanged messaged at the end and had a laugh about our "race"
