I think I will use the Neo on Tuesday. Not comfortable yet on how to get the best out of the SB

Is there a noticeable difference Andy?

I've got the legs spinning ok ish. I can't seem to find a gear where I can ramp up power . I'm using dream drive .

So maybe that's the feeling. I've got 50 gears setup. The noticeable thing is you can instantly feel gradient changes on the Neo even when using low difficulty setting, where as I feel the Stages the resistance remains constant even when the power drops away. It maybe the huge flywheel . I'm going to try a standard Shimano setup once I've finally dialled in the comfort side.

It has lots of positives though, solid, super gearing (although can't find a rhythm yet). Silent, it's much quieter than my Neo. Super easy and solid adjustable bike setup. Left/Right display on the phone,

It new and different, I'll get there with it. Just can't risk missing a chance for the sprints on Tuesday with me faffing over which gear to choose etc

Well this is very strange. According to Zwiftpower I appear to have won the race I did an hour ago but I'm not sure how

It was the Crit Crusher by SZR at 4.30. 49 started and I crossed the line 14th which I was moderately pleased with.

I then checked ZP, as you do, and it showed me as 6th which surprised me slightly.

When I looked at my profile just now, it showed me with a Gold. I went to the results and I think it must be due to the Primes total which is fun as I didn't realise there were Primes ^_^

Maybe it will change again soon, but I'll bask in some unexpected glory until it does. If anyone can explain it, that would be good 👍

Today’s the last chance to ride the first round of the Zwift TT Club series on the 4km Mech Isle Loop before it moved onto Watopia Flat Route tomorrow for next week’s events, which I think will be a more measured effort.

I did Mech Isle yesterday and it was very intense. Although it’s only just over 6 minutes of riding, you may not get a PB power for 5 minutes because of the descent at halfway. I was aiming to overstretch myself at the start and up the hill, and recuperate a bit on the descent. But the ‘easy’ (<300W) descent was all over too quickly, I didn’t really get any recovery, and I found myself really grinding on the last km!

The results of my race yesterday were a little different to yours. But someone’s got to come last right?! 😌

I think in reality 28 started in A cat. But on zp I’m 12th of 12. I am acutely aware that when I’m hanging on up the hills, it’s other peoples 2nd or 3rd gear. In the B category races when I’m struggling, I’m pretty confident everyone else at the front is on a relatively similar curve too. So I can degrade for want of a better word, at the same pace as them. But in A I guess I’m not on that level. So I’m just really trying to get as far as I can with them. I got dumped 13km from the finish yesterday. In the recent past I’ve managed to stay until the end but I guess as always t’s going to depend on the course and the field.

Picking a 40km lumpy race was probably an tad optimistic too!

Edit: Some of the guys in my race were racing for teams I recognise as being very competitive too so I’m not being too hard on myself really.

Did you go TT or Gravel bike?
I did it on Monday with a gravel bike. The dirt climb was fun passing a fast guy on a TT bike, but he got me back later

I've just looked at the Primes tab for the race yesterday - and I don't think I've ever done that before!

There were 7 laps and looks like I got a 2, 3, 5 , 10 in the First over line and 2, 3, 3, 4, 5, 10 in Fastest times.

I didn't know there were any primes so it makes me wonder if I'd have done better or worse if I had been trying to get prime points ^_^

It never crossed my mind not to go for the TT bike! Isn’t all of the ‘sand’ best ridden on road/TT bikes?

Well I looked up Mech Isle loop on ZI and he said it was 50% dirt and not a clear-cut bike choice. I couldn't be bothered to do it twice on different bikes though to see the difference. I do hate dirt climbs on a road bike though. Temple KoM is the worst.

This overtake was the best fun though. The guy had whizzed past me and taken about 8s...

Interesting energy deployment! Wouldn’t it have been faster if you’d saved a little so you weren’t doing <200W at times on the flat bit at the end? 🤷‍♂️ (just sayin’…)
