Sorry I forgot the discord, found my earpiece but it was too far from me and too close the start to get off the bike and setup phone with 1m30 to go. All three of you did a good job of keeping me in touch.

Where did the team finish?

Last I think and unfortunately that's the league win gone I think. Not your fault though - the blame lies squarely with Covid and Garmin

Provisional results are in and we were first By 8 seconds - First last!
But not to worry…we are tied in 3rd place in the league and off second place by a single point. We have beaten the team in second place - HERD - by 2 points in each of the race format rounds. Still all to play for. :boxing:

CCC bust a gut tonight, but unfortunately we lost out to our main rival by 200 hundredths of a second. We left everything on the road but were just pipped by a better team.

One thing we did find out though, at 52 years and 8 months, I was the youngster of the team ... so as a team of old buggers racing much younger guys, we did bloody well!!!

Does anyone else think the starting order of the TTT is the wrong way round . Surely the better teams have earned the right to be the chaser and have a target to aim for

They did have reverse order starts for TTTs for the first few seasons of ZRL but what it lead to was the faster teams catching the slower ones up and that just led to problems with overtaking. This was back in the days of “sticky” draft, so you’d have teams getting split in the middle cause only some of them would be able to successfully pass first time, then the slower team hanging on the passing team’s back (which they weren’t meant to but often tried to). Since the change it’s a lot rarer to see another team let alone overtake them which is probably easier overall for everyone.

Didn't consider the overtaking bit . I was just thinking as our race was so close the chasing team had that target to sprint for

Exactly, it's an artificial . Only powerup what I could use in Zwift is cloaking (ghost), especially when something feels embarrassing. Only way to get fit is train more. Most of powerups are made for make the rider feel better/faster (for few seconds) what he/she actually is.

It’s very odd isn’t it juhal? Even after all this time I find it strange.

They don’t use power ups in the premier league races just the lower divisions. It’s not really for me. I’d rather just say ‘let the best man win’. Rather than “I hope I get a aero boost at the best time so I can beat the best man!’ if that makes sense. But I think zwift have the opposite opinion. At the top in the premier league they have the level playing field. Lower down the divisions they want everyone to go home with a medal of some sort.

Last night event, I thought I would relay the little bit of drafting information I gleamed from my use of 'Sauce' I really should get a screen capture program that does this, then I wouldn't need to fumble my thoughts out:laugh:

Riding directly behind each other does increase the draft number, if you deviate from slightly to one side or the otherof the rider in front, around 30 drafting % points drop. eg I was getting around 110% perfectly aligned. around 80% just off line.

This number obviously increases the faster you're travelling which enhances the B squads by a margin compared to C squad, allowing riders behind to recovery better.

You get the same benefit behind a bunch of riders, but those leading the bunch collectively lose out draft advantage.

So without doing an dedicated experiment, ride perfectly in line where possible :okay:

But you kind of knew that anyhow:hello:

Yes it is Tommy. Let's imagine the situation that I am very lousy physical shape and I just started to change my life to get the better shape and I hesitate should I join to Zwift group rides or not, how well I stay in a group. In that situation I think powerups are very welcome. But in a race you know for what are you get up to. What can be more motivated to race than manage without powerups (I don't race so I don't care). I know that Zwift is just a game but when you race I am sure that people take that seriously, it doesn't feel much game when you give everything out you got.
